Terms of Use
Effective date: 5 September 2026
1. Provider and agreement
Opera Storybooks is provided by Intuitive Data AS, organisation number 933 001 121, Underlandsveien 98, 1389 Heggedal, Norway. Contact: contact@intuitivedata.no.
These Terms govern your use of the Opera Storybooks application and related services. By creating an account or purchasing Premium, you agree to these Terms. If you use only the account-free preview, you agree to the provisions necessary for permitted use of the app and its content. Mandatory consumer rights under the law where you live continue to apply.
2. The service
Opera Storybooks is an illustrated educational and cultural companion to opera. It provides catalogue information, editorial story material and, where available, character, musical-number, libretto and translation material.
The free service permits reading the first three scenes of The Magic Flute. Titles and covers may remain visible for discovery. All other scenes and operas, and detailed cast, music, libretto and translation experiences, require an active Premium entitlement unless the app clearly states otherwise.
Opera Storybooks does not include a Spotify subscription, music-streaming rights, performance tickets or admission to an event. External music links open an independent third-party service and may be unavailable or vary by country.
3. Accounts
An account is optional for the free preview and required for purchasing, restoring and synchronizing Premium entitlement. You must provide an email address you control and complete email-code verification. You are responsible for protecting access to that email account and for activity performed through your Opera Storybooks account.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account independently, or use the account with the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate another person.
4. Premium subscriptions
Premium is offered as monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions through Apple App Store and Google Play. The exact localized price, currency, billing period, taxes and any offer are displayed by the store before purchase and govern the charge. No free trial is included unless the store purchase screen expressly offers one.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the selected period until cancelled. The store account is charged according to its purchase confirmation and renewal rules. You can manage or cancel through the store account used for purchase. Cancellation normally stops future renewal while access continues until the end of the paid period, subject to refunds, revocation, account hold and applicable law.
Deleting Opera Storybooks or deleting your Opera Storybooks account does not itself cancel the store subscription. The app provides access to store subscription management. Additional subscription terms form part of these Terms.
5. Licence and content
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app and access content for private, non-commercial reading while your applicable access remains active.
Opera works may include underlying material in the public domain. The app, selection, arrangement, editorial writing, translations where owned or licensed, illustrations, design, software, branding and databases may nevertheless be protected by copyright, database rights, trademarks or licence terms. You may not copy, republish, sell, scrape, bulk-download, circumvent access controls or create a competing database from the service, except where applicable law expressly permits the activity.
6. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, probe protected content, share access tokens, automate excessive requests, introduce malicious code, or use the service to violate law or third-party rights. We may limit or suspend access reasonably necessary to protect users, rights holders or the service. We will respect mandatory consumer protections when doing so.
7. Availability and changes
Opera content, external links and features may change as the catalogue is corrected, expanded or licensed. We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, store outages, network conditions, rights changes and third-party services can affect access. Material subscription changes will be communicated as required by the applicable store rules and law.
8. Refunds and billing disputes
Apple or Google processes purchases and normally handles payment questions and refund requests under the rules applicable to the purchase. Contact the relevant store first for a refund. You may also contact us for entitlement support. Nothing in these Terms limits a refund, withdrawal right, conformity remedy or other protection that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Account deletion and termination
You may delete your account in Settings or use the web route described on the Account Deletion page. Account deletion removes the account and our associated entitlement record but does not cancel store billing. Some minimal records may be retained where required for transaction integrity, security or law, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
We may terminate or restrict an account for serious or repeated breach, fraud, security risk or legal necessity. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
10. Responsibility
The service is provided for general cultural and educational use. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Intuitive Data AS is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, third-party services, or failures outside our reasonable control. We do not exclude responsibility that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights or responsibility for intentional or grossly negligent conduct where applicable.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. If you are a consumer, mandatory protections and jurisdiction rules of your country of residence remain available to you. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a dispute. A consumer may also use applicable public complaint or dispute-resolution services.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms for legal, security, technical or service reasons. We will provide notice and obtain consent when required. Continued use after an effective change constitutes acceptance only where permitted by law.
